Viviane Chen

I believe that a peaceful mind, a compassionate heart, and a healthy body are the keys to a fulfilling life.

My journey started as a designer. I had a great eye for creating beauty and found myself filled with ideas, but after working a few years in the fashion industry in Paris and Asia, I didn't have a sense of fulfillment. I observed that people could surround themselves with beautiful things but still be unhappy. I quit my job and came to New York to recharge, refresh, and explore my potential with meaning.

Living in New York feels like returning home to me; the diverse cultures and open-mindedness perfectly resonate with my spirit. My involvement in diverse non-profit organizations unveiled my natural ability to forge connections and provide guidance through ancient wisdom and art. Additionally, delving into my first Taichi lesson alongside my partner sparked an instant passion within me. I came to realize that each step and movement holds life's deep wisdom, emphasizing the significance of both inner and outer balance as we journey through life. It truly embodies the Art of Balance.

I continued my Taichi study with many masters for the coming years, including Master Alex Dong (fourth generation of the renowned Dong family of Taichiquan), Master Ping Zhen Cheng (founder of Taichizen "Enlightened Living"), Master Wang RenGang, Grandmaster Dr. Ye Rui-Chun (disciple of Ye Da Mi, founder of Ye style Taichi), Master Ren Guang Yi, and Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang (the nineteenth generation standard-bearer of the Chen Family Taichiquan).

After reading The Joy of Living and Open Heart Open Mind, I studied Meditation with Tibetan Master Tsoknyi Rinpoche, who showed me the Nature of the Mind-The universal consciousness; I am forever grateful. The deep connection, open heart, and fearlessness training in meditation helped me healed the prolonged buried pain and sadness from losing my father during my teenage years. Having studied and practiced Taichi and meditation for years, I now understand how powerful the teamwork between the body and mind is. I was born with Thalassemia and used to be tired most of the time, with headaches and stomachaches as frequent visitors. After practicing Taichi regularly, the symptoms mentioned above all disappeared. This ancient art and moving meditation bring great health benefits to me by aligning my Body and Mind from moment to moment, sparks a way of being in me that moves with a keen awareness of whole being.

Having received holistic well-being training from numerous institutions, plus my study and experience of NVC (Nonviolent Communication) and Alexander Technique, inspired me to integrate them into my life and Teaching; the shared compassionate and natural approach aligns with my belief.

Life keeps bringing me blessings: during the Pandemic, I discovered the healing power of Unconditional Love through Chanting and Prayers under Yungchen Lhamo's Guidance. I also met Dr. Pralhad Ron from India, who gave everything from the heart, and studied Pranayam with him. I thank every teacher who has shown me the example of wisdom, compassion, and love through their body, mind, and speech, and I vow to share everything from which I have benefited with others as much as I can.

Having gone through different learning stages, I have come to experience the beauty of the present moment in one's self with the universe: it is the embodiment of Kindness, Joy, Balance and Flow.

I invite you to come to join me in this beautiful journey of discovery and transformation.
